Privacy Policy
How WebUtils handles information when you use our browser-based utilities — including tool inputs, technical data, cookies, and optional third-party services like analytics or advertising.

WebUtils is built around a simple idea: tools should do their job without needing to know who you are. This policy explains what information may be involved when you visit the site, use the tools, or get in touch — and how that information is handled.
§1 Introduction
WebUtils is a collection of lightweight browser-based web utilities available at WebUtils.my (https://webutils.my). This Privacy Policy explains how information may be handled when you visit the website, use the tools, or contact WebUtils by email.
WebUtils is primarily a static website built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Many tools are designed to process data in your browser wherever technically possible. Even so, websites can still receive technical information as part of normal operation, security, and delivery of pages — and this policy describes that as honestly as we can.
§2 Information We May Receive
The information involved when you use WebUtils generally falls into three categories: information you choose to provide, technical information that may be available when you access a website, and information you enter into tools that may be processed locally in your browser.
2.1 Information you voluntarily provide
If you contact WebUtils by email (contact@webutils.my), WebUtils may receive information you include in your message, such as:
- Your email address
- Your name, if you include it
- The content of your message and any attachments you send
- Any information you choose to share — a bug report, feedback, an advertising inquiry, or something else
2.2 Technical information from website access
When you visit a website, certain technical information may be made available to the website and to service providers that help deliver and protect the site. Depending on how WebUtils is configured and which services are enabled, this may include:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device information, such as device type
- Operating system
- Language settings
- Pages viewed and approximate time of access
- Referring page and links clicked, where available
- Basic diagnostic and performance data, such as error logs
- Approximate location derived from IP address — typically at a city, region, or country level, where available
This type of information is commonly used to deliver the website, maintain security, and understand performance. It is not necessarily used to identify you by name.
2.3 Information processed in the browser by WebUtils tools
Many WebUtils tools are designed so that inputs are processed directly in your browser using JavaScript. In those cases, the information you enter is handled on your device rather than being sent to a WebUtils database.
However, not every feature on every tool can be guaranteed to operate entirely offline in all situations — for example, if you use a feature that relies on third-party content, external libraries, or future site functionality. Your browser and network environment can also create technical records (such as cached files or diagnostic logs) that are outside WebUtils's direct control.
§3 Information Entered Into WebUtils Tools
WebUtils provides tools such as:
- APCA Color Contrast Checker
- LLM Token Cost Calculator
- Video Safe Zone Checker
- Schema.org JSON-LD Generator
- Lorem Ipsum Generator
- Text Case Converter
Depending on the tool, you may enter information like:
- Text you paste or type (for example, in the Lorem Ipsum Generator or Text Case Converter)
- Colors and contrast settings (for example, in the APCA Color Contrast Checker)
- Structured data you create (for example, in the Schema.org JSON-LD Generator)
- Values and assumptions used for calculations (for example, in the LLM Token Cost Calculator)
- Media, frames, overlays, or settings used for layout checking (for example, in the Video Safe Zone Checker)
WebUtils aims to process tool inputs in the browser wherever technically possible and does not require an account to use the tools. WebUtils also does not describe a user login system, user dashboard, or a WebUtils-managed database for storing tool inputs or user-generated content on WebUtils's own server.
Avoid entering confidential, sensitive, personal, or proprietary information into any online tool unless you are comfortable doing so. If you are working with sensitive material — API keys, passwords, private user data, trade secrets — consider using offline methods or redacting the data before using online utilities.
§4 How Information May Be Used
Depending on the services enabled on the website and how you interact with WebUtils, information may be used for purposes such as:
- Providing and maintaining the website and its tools
- Delivering site content efficiently and reliably
- Operating, troubleshooting, and improving tool functionality
- Responding to emails, including support requests, feedback, error reports, or advertising inquiries
- Investigating and preventing abuse, fraud, spam, or security incidents
- Measuring general website usage and performance where analytics are enabled
- Supporting advertising where advertising features or third-party advertising services are enabled
- Complying with applicable legal obligations and enforcing rights where necessary
§5 Email Communications
If you email WebUtils at contact@webutils.my, WebUtils may use the information in your email to:
- Understand your request
- Respond and communicate with you
- Troubleshoot issues you report
- Keep internal records related to the conversation — for example, to follow up on a bug report
Please don't send sensitive personal information by email unless necessary. Email is not always secure end-to-end, and messages may be stored by email providers.
§6 Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, and scripts that help websites function and understand usage.
WebUtils may use cookies or similar technologies where required for legitimate purposes. Depending on the services enabled on the website, this may include:
6.1 Necessary cookies and security technologies
These may be used to support core website functions, help prevent abuse, manage traffic, and protect the website and visitors.
6.2 Analytics technologies (if enabled)
If analytics are enabled, cookies or similar technologies may be used to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are visited and how the site performs. This helps improve reliability and user experience.
6.3 Advertising technologies (if enabled)
If WebUtils displays advertising now or in the future, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and limit repeated ads. Some advertising may be interest-based, depending on the provider and your settings.
6.4 Preference or functionality technologies (where applicable)
These may remember choices you make, such as basic preferences, display settings, or other functionality that improves your experience.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some browsers allow you to delete existing cookies, block cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. If WebUtils provides cookie controls on the website in the future, you can use those controls where available. Blocking certain cookies may affect how the website functions.
§7 Advertising and Third-Party Services
WebUtils may use third-party services to operate, secure, measure, or monetize the website. This may include advertising services in the future. When third-party services are enabled, those providers may process information — including technical information and cookie data — according to their own privacy policies.
WebUtils does not control third-party privacy practices. You should review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through WebUtils.
§8 How Information May Be Shared
WebUtils may share information in limited circumstances, depending on what is necessary to operate the website and comply with legal requirements. Categories of sharing may include:
- Service providers that help operate or deliver the website (for example, infrastructure, delivery, or technical support providers), to the extent required to provide the service
- Security and technical providers that help protect the website, detect abuse, and maintain availability
- Analytics providers, if enabled, to help understand aggregated usage and improve performance
- Advertising partners, if enabled, to display and measure ads
- Legal and regulatory authorities where required by law, lawful process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers, if WebUtils or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale — information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law
This policy does not state that WebUtils sells personal information. If WebUtils adopts practices that meet the definition of "selling" or "sharing" under certain laws, WebUtils should update disclosures and controls as required.
§9 Data Retention
Information is generally retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Retention may also depend on legitimate business needs, security, dispute resolution, and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
For example, email correspondence may be retained as long as needed to address your request and maintain appropriate records. Technical logs, where generated, may be retained for operational and security purposes and rotated over time.
§10 Data Security
WebUtils may use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use caution when sending information online, including by email.
§11 International Access and Cross-Border Processing
WebUtils may be accessed from many countries. Depending on the services enabled and where service providers operate, information may be processed or stored in locations outside your country of residence. Privacy laws and protections may differ by location.
§12 Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights relating to your personal information. These rights can vary and may be subject to exceptions. They may include:
- The right to request access to personal information
- The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information
- The right to request deletion of personal information
- The right to request restriction of processing or to object to certain processing
- The right to data portability in certain circumstances
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent — withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal
- The right to lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority
To make a request, contact WebUtils using the email address in the Contact section. WebUtils may need to verify your request in a reasonable manner, depending on the nature of the request and the information involved.
§13 Children's Privacy
WebUtils is not specifically directed at children. WebUtils does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to WebUtils by email, please contact WebUtils so appropriate steps can be considered.
§14 Third-Party Websites and Links
WebUtils may include links to third-party websites or resources. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. You should review the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit.
§15 Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of WebUtils after changes are posted indicates that you have read the updated policy.
